Getting to Pencil Mill
From M6 junction 40 take A66 west then take the Ullswater (A592) exit at the next roundabout.  Stay on this road until you reach the lake then turn right (for Glenridding / Windermere).  Follow this road for about 2.5 miles passing The Brackenrigg pub (on your right) and then take the next right hand turn, signposted for Longthwaite and Watermillock Church.  Follow this road for 1/2 mile and then take the next left down the lane, go over the flat bridge and the entrance to Pencil Mill is the next entrance set back on the left. It will say Private Pencil Mill, proceed along this drive to the house.
