The property is set on a substantial plot with detached coachhouse, large parking area and beautiful gardens with summer house. Located on an elevated site on the outskirts of Wigton with wonderful views of Skiddaw fell.
This superb period residence is thought to date from around 1870 and has retained much of the period character and features, including marble fireplaces, moulded plasterwork, pitch pine carpentry and original hallway floor tiles. Many of the rooms are of grand proportions with high ceilings and large sash windows bathing them in light. An adjoining outbuilding has been converted into a superb day room, extending over 20 feet and opening into a delightful glazed garden room with grape vine growing inside.
In the recent years the property has been sympathetically renovated and upgraded, including re-plumbing, re-wiring, partial re-roofing and new double glazed timber windows to the front. The property benefits from a detached former coach house, presently serving as garages and workshop and offers further development potential.
