Getting to Kirkbank House
From Penrith take the M6 south to Junction 39, on leaving the M6 turn right onto the B6261, go over the motorway bridge and then take the 1st left turn for Orton.  Continue on the B6261 for four miles. As you drop down into Orton Village, go straight ahead onto West End Road where the B6261 bears round to the right, passing the entrance to the church on your left hand side and the entrance to Kirkbank House is on your left after the top of the brow and before the t junction.
