Getting to Lodness
From M6 J41 take the B5305 towards Wigton.  Travel along this road and take the left turn signposted Hesket Newmarket and Caldbeck.  Continue along and through the village of Caldbeck, head out of the village towards the fell.  Keep going towards Uldale - as you get to the top of the hill - take the left hand turn signposted Orthwaite, go across the cattle grid and drop down the hill.  You will see three houses the left.  Lodness is the middle one.
