There is an excellent choice of lakeside hotels with restaurants and leisure facilities, with a number of traditional inns nearby in Dockray and Troutbeck. 

Matterdale End is ideally located between Ullswater and the A66, which offers easy access to the M6 and the market towns of Keswick and Penrith, with West Coast Main Line train station.

Getting to Little Eden From Penrith and M6 J40 follow the A66 to Keswick and after around 7 miles turn left at the Troutbeck junction onto the A5091. Follow the road for around 2.5 miles to Matterdale End. As you pass the village signpost go through an S bend and take the next right (signposted a dead end). Follow the road up the hill and the Bank House Barn development is at the top.
