Bridge Cottage, Maulds Meaburn, Penrith,

A charming three bedroom 19th Century cottage with wonderful period features and lovely gardens with a stone outbuilding. Bridge cottage is in an idyllic setting on the banks of the Lyvennet Beck in the picturesque Eden Valley village of Maulds Meaburn, which is now in Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Location
Bridge Cottage is located in the picturesque conservation village of Maulds Meaburn, described by Hunter Davies as "... one of the most beautiful villages in the country". The village is set around the tranquil Lyvennet Beck, with 22 acres of village green, making it an ideal location for walks and waterside picnics. The village institute hosts regular community events and there is a pub and school in the neighbouring village of Crosby Ravensworth. The village is now in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is within close proximity to the Lake District. Maulds Meaburn is midway between the A66 and the A6 with M6 junction nearby at Shap.

Inside
The cottage probably dates back to 1875 and was sympathetically modernised in 1989, with character features remaining, including sash windows and exposed beams. On the ground floor an entrance vestibule leads into a spacious living room with cosy wood burning stove, open staircase and vintage brass wall lights. Off the living room is a flexible use room with French doors onto the garden, which could serve as a dining room or second sitting room. The kitchen has fitted cabinets, ceramic sink and space for a breakfast table. On the first floor are three bedrooms, with two having wonderful views of the beck and village green. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower over bath and there is an additional shower room off the landing - both bathroom suites have been recently installed.

Outside
Bridge cottage has lovely gardens on three sides, with it’s secluded rear garden having a lawn, mature trees and shrubs and two patio seating areas. To the front of the cottage is a stone outbuilding with two stores and seating area to sit and enjoy the evening sun and view of the beck.  The Cottage has free fishing rights on Lyvennet Beck and a designated parking space around the corner.
