From Penrith, take A6 towards Shap. As you go over the railway bridge in Shap, turn immediately right to Bampton.  Follow the road until you get to a turning on your left for Rosgill. As you enter Rosgill follow the road down and continue through the village.  Keep on this road, over the bridge until you come to a turning “hair pin bend” on your left hands side - over a cattle grid onto the fell.  Rawhead is not the immediate property on the right but the second one in the near distance.
